Most of us know Dick Clark as the broadcasting giant who handed over the reins to New Year's Rockin' Eve to Ryan Seacrest a few years back. But for those old enough to remember, Dick was also the brains behind a little show called American Bandstand, whose evening show premiered on this date in 1957.
